Sandstone intervals such as this are probably underrepresented in Unit II because they are friable and easily lost during coring (Interval 149-897C-39R-5, 50-73 cm). B. Parallel laminated sandstone (97-101 cm) with sharp base and top. The discrete upper boundary on this bed in particular suggests reworking of sand-sized material by contour currents. Overlying calcareous silty claystone is highly bioturbated: note well-preserved Zoophycos (Interval 149-897C-30R, 80-103 cm).
