Files on this CD-ROM are ASCII format and readable by word processors and spreadsheet programs. The files appear in two formats. Files with the .txt extension were Microsoft Excel files that have been translated to tab delimited format. Files with the .XLS extension are Microsoft Excel files in spreadsheet format. The SULFLOGS directory (folder) includes versions of the spreadsheets used to log sulfide cores.  The IGPETLOG directory (folder) contains spreadsheets used to log basement cores. Both of these spreadsheets are described in the "Explanatory Notes" chapter of the Leg 158 Initial Reports volume.  The data should be complete because each was updated at the end of the cruise. The THINSEC directory (folder) contains a text summary description of the thin sections prepared during the cruise.
