Sedimentary units were recovered from Holes SEG69A and SEG71B. Both of these units are composed of gravel- to pebble-sized, angular to rounded fragments of sandstone, gneiss, breccia, and basalt. Of particular note is a subangular, 5-cm-long fragment of a garnet-bearing, foliated leucogneiss. The two sedimentary units recovered from Transect EG64 are interpreted to represent clasts from a diamicton cover. The contact between the volcanic basement and this sediment cover is not preserved at either site.
