Notes: All errors are 2 s.e. and are propagated to include weighing error, blank uncertainty, and in-run statistical error from the analyses. 234U(0) = [(234U/238U) - 1]/1000, where parentheses signify an activity ratio. Raw age is calculated directly from the data in the previous two columns. Scavenging corrected age = the age corrected for initial 230Th by assuming that all 232Th is scavenged from seawater at a 232Th/230Th ratio of 12,000 ± 6,000. Only those ages listed in bold give 234U(T) values that indicate little or no diagenesis; other samples have suffered diagenesis and the ages are therefore not correct. 234U(T), which equals 234U(0)·e234·T, is an expression of the initial 234U. MIS stage = the marine oxygen isotope stage during which the sample is thought to have formed based on the diagenetic model discussed in the text and in Figure 3.
