ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Joint Oceanographic Institutions/U.S. Science Support Program supported the Leg 166 paleomagnetic measurements reported here. The Paleomagnetics Laboratory at the University of Miami was established through grants from the National Science Foundation and the W.H. Keck Foundation. Although our results are somewhat disappointing and are a limited contribution to an integrated stratigraphy, they do help our understanding of the nature and preservation of magnetic remanence in carbonate sediments. We thank our shipboard colleagues, especially Paul Montgomery, for their help with many hours of paleomagnetic sample collection. Jim Channell provided some helpful suggestions on the contents of this data report.
