This folder contains descriptions from the Leg 169 Shipboard Scientific Party for cores recovered from Site 1038, Central Hill. These cores were collected in October, 1996.
All files were generated by the proprietary core description software package AppleCORE, by Mike Ranger (Copyright, 1989, 1995). Each folder includes strip logs in AppleCORE format (e.g., 1038A01R.log is the strip log for Core 169-1038A-1R). The custom file included in this folder (1038.cus) is applicable to all AppleCORE files for this site.
Please note that these files are versions of shipboard data compiled by scientists who participated on ODP Leg 169. These were assembled under time constraints and do not incorporate final interpretations or conclusions of the Shipboard Scientific Party. These files represent the equivalent of field notes, and should not be considered as anything else than a guide to sampling the cores.
