This folder contains descriptions from the Leg 169 Shipboard Scientific Party for cores recovered from Hole 856H, Bent Hill massive sulfide deposit. These cores were collected between 24 August and 1 September, 1996.
All files were generated by the proprietary core description software package AppleCORE, by Mike Ranger (Copyright, 1989, 1995). These files include a continuous strip log in AppleCORE format (856H.log), and the custom pattern/symbol file produced for these logs (856H.cus).
Please note that these files are versions of shipboard data compiled by scientists who participated on ODP Leg 169. These were assembled under time constraints and do not incorporate final interpretations or conclusions of the Shipboard Scientific Party. These files represent the equivalent of field notes, and should not be considered as anything else than a guide to sampling the cores.
