Absolute abundance (per ~20 cm3 of sediment) of benthic foraminifers is given as A = abundant (>500 specimens); C = common (250–500 specimens); F = few (100–249 specimens); R = rare (50–99 specimens); T = trace (1–49 specimens); and B = barren (no specimens).
