PHOTOMICROGRAPH SCANS READ ME This briefly describes the contents of the PHOTOMIC folder. There are two subfolders, PHOTOTIF and SCALES, as well as two files, PHOTOLOG.XLS and README.TXT. The photomicrographs are listed in the order in which they were shot, which are on file at the Ocean Drilling Program. The thin-section identification and objective magnification are also listed, as well as a brief description of the subject of each photomicrograph and whether the photographs were obtained using transmitted, reflected, or cross-polarized light. Total magnifications are 10x objective magnifications. The SCALES folder gives the scale bars for each objective magnification and photographs of the scales in Illustrator format. Within the SCALES folder, the naming convention follows the format of 10X.AI for a magnification of 10x. The photomicrographs that were used for illustrations in the Site Report were professionally rescanned at 350 dpi. These are embedded in the site report itself. The interested user of these files may consequently view or copy figures from the site report and/or the scanned photomicrographs in PHOTOTIFF. Prints of any of the photomicrographs may be requested from the Data Librarian of the Ocean Drilling Program by e-mail at database@odp.tamu.edu.
