Unlike at previous sites, the excess concentrations of (B) Ca2+, (C) Mg2+, and (D) K+ are not normalized by seawater but refer to the actual loss from the brine. Excess concentrations are calculated as Xi - X0 × Cli-/Cl0-, where Xi represents the concentration of the element at a certain depth, and X0 refers to the normal seawater concentration of this element.
