Important features are (a) the wide range in MgO content with many of the clasts in the conglomerate at Site 1137 and several samples at Site 1139 containing <1 wt% MgO and (b) Site 1140 lavas define three subparallel trends, which reflect units containing varying proportions of MORB- and plume-related components.
