Figure F71. Geophysical logging measurements in Jurassic basement in Hole 801C are shown with major lithologic sequences determined from core-log integration of Leg 129 and 185 data. Resistivity, bulk density, and P-wave velocities exhibit very similar patterns of variation down the borehole. The largest resistivity and P-wave velocity values are within the massive flow units. Conversely, the lowest values are associated with the upper hydrothermal unit and the alternating pillow basalts, sediments, and breccias. Temperature anomalies at 520 and 710 mbsf are also observed and coincide with regions of low resistivity.
