Figure F27. Interflow sediment (interval 192-1186A-32R-3, 65-93 cm; early Aptian). A limestone pebble conglomerate overlies a fining-upward volcaniclastic bed and is overlain by a basalt flow. Rounded clasts are dominated by two matrix-supported facies of micritic limestone with radiolarians or micrite limestone with planktonic foraminifers. Light to dark brown colors of these limestone clasts are caused by variable abundance of a brownish semiopaque mineral(s), probably Fe oxyhydroxide. Other clasts include isolated planktonic foraminifers, volcanic glass shards, glauconite, and clusters of dark opaque minerals.
