The shipboard and shorebased scientific party of Ocean Drilling Program Leg 195 would like to express its appreciation to the shipboard personnel on the JOIDES Resolution and the ODP staff at Texas A&M University for the years of effort that went into the planning and execution of the ambitious drilling and instrumentation program conducted on Leg 195 and the publication of the final results of the expedition and subsequent postcruise studies. Leg 195 was remarkable among ODP cruises for the breadth of its objectives, its technical complexity and the degree of multidisciplinary and multi-institutional collaboration required to achieve success.
