Publishing Instructions for ODP Scientists
Software Specifications
Revised manuscripts submitted to the Scientific Results volume must be prepared in electronic format and accompanied by a printout. See Author Requirements for Revised Submission.
Authors must prepare electronic material according to the following software specifications.
Text
- WordPerfect is preferred. Microsoft Word is also accepted.
- See Manuscript Formatting Checklist.
- All files must be saved with a maximum of 8.3 characters and file names should be typed in all caps.
Tables
- Excel or WordPerfect are preferred. Microsoft Word and Lotus 123 are also accepted.
- See Table and Range Chart Formatting Specifications.
- All files must be saved with a maximum of 8.3 characters and file names should be typed in all caps.
Figures
- KaleidaGraph, Canvas, and Adobe Illustrator are preferred. Cricket Graph, Corel Draw, FreeHand, MacDraw II, MacDraw Pro, and DeltaGraph are also accepted.
- Figures submitted in any other program will be scanned from the printout provided. This is not recommended because the scanned image will only be as good as the original. (Figures printed from a low-resolution laser printer will not look as clean as figures printed on high-quality paper to a high-resolution printer or photographed.)
