and downhole measurements. LWD = logging while drilling, MST =
multisensor track, SGR = spectral gamma ray (total counts), and CGR =
computed gamma ray (total counts minus contribution of uranium). Gabbro
contact was located ~40 m deeper in Hole C than in Hole B; it remains
uncertain whether this is caused by a depth datum problem or by a local
geological feature (fault; discontinuous gabbro layer). Difference of
gabbro depth between Holes B and D (~15 m) can be attributed to measured
deviation of Hole D from vertical.
