SAMPLING STRATEGY
Given the shallow-water depths of operation and attendant high rates of anticipated core recovery,
only low-resolution sampling will be carried out aboard ship. Such sampling will support
description/characterization, facilitate pilot studies, and provide material for projects that do not
require a high-temporal resolution. High-resolution sampling will be deferred to a shore-based
sampling party shortly after the cruise.
