The new Minolta color scanning track, designed and built by Bill Mills, was installed during Leg 166. The track, although manual in operation, will greatly increase ease of operation and will relieve operator fatigue on high-recovery legs. The software for the system is still being refined.
The possibility of removing the Faxitron from the ship will be discussed at the next LWOG meeting scheduled for early 1996.
