1.1.1 Export Options

There are 2 submenus under the Export menu.

1.1.1.1 Export for Description (Export Cores for AppleCORE Description -- Window cda01)

The Export Cores for AppleCORE Description window is used to export core and section data that can be uploaded into the AppleCore program. Open the window by selecting the Export for Description option from the File menu.

Export Cores for AppleCORE Description Window

When the window opens, the current leg is displayed at the top. The list box in the window contains all of the Site, Hole, and Core identifiers for the current leg/site/hole as determined by the Defaults table. There is an asterisk in front of each core for which description data has already been loaded into the database. If a core or interval thereof has been described, only the entire core may be exported. If no description has been recorded, then the user may export a section, the entire core, or any interval within the core. An interval is any range of depth between the top and bottom of the core.

Care should be taken when exporting intervals which are less than the entire core. When the description is completed, import is only allowed for intervals where no decription is recorded. This means that if exports are made for intervals, they should not overlap. If they do, and import is attempted, an error condition will be described and upload is aborted.

To export core data from the database, highlight the SHC identifier for that data in the list box and click on the Export button. The dialog box for your platform appears in which to enter a filename and directory for the file you wish to export.

This button exits the window.

1.1.1.1.1 Change Site/Hole Panel

The Change Site/Hole Panel is initiated from the Change Site/Hole pushbutton of the Export Cores for AppleCORE Description window. It is used to change the site/hole/core information that will populate the list box.

Buttons

Clicking on this button will close the Site/Hole panel and return to the Export Cores for AppleCORE Description window without changing the Site/Hole/Cores in the listbox.

1.1.1.2 Export for Report

Use the Export for Report option in the File menu to generate a core description export for an entire hole or a composite hole. This report can be used as an upload to AppleCORE to create a striplog for an entire hole or any part thereof. It can also be used to generate an export file for upload to AppleCORE which will allow the creation of a striplog for a composite hole. That is, the user can export descriptions of cores across multiple holes within a site for a composite striplog. In both cases, the export of data can be based on any depth type or age model as its basis. Open the window by selecting the Export for Report option from the File menu. Before a report can be generated, a window will open to allow the user to select a report generated by depth map type or age model type.

1.1.1.2.1 Specify Depth Map or Age Model (window cda04)

Specify Depth Map or Age Model Window

When the window opens there is no depth map or age model selected. Select either a Age Model Type from the Age Model choice box, or a Depth Map Type from the Depth Map choice box. If a Depth Map Type is selected, you can also select either the MCD Corrected or Compressed checkboxes.

Buttons

This button closes the window and returns to the Core Description Application.
